Hello everyone. I have had my 2020 CR-V EX for 6 months. The other night I came home to pick up something. I left my daughter in the car with the car running. My daughter got out and entered the neighbor's house as I finished. And a very strong rain fell that lasted about 45 minutes. The car was on the whole time. I tried to shut down the engine remotely but couldn't. I want to know if the engine is supposed to shut off with the remote control? Thanks

No, can’t do this if the engine was started normally. If started remotely it will only run for a limited time unless you extend running time with the remote. You could have turned the car off, exited it and started using the remote but I think the alarm may have gone off if she exited.

Would be a great feature, but nope. If you exit the car with the fob in your pocket, an alert will appears on the dash that the fob can’t be detected, but the car will stay running until the start/stop button is pressed.
